OUR STORY
Established in the San Luis Valley, Family-Owned
Robert and Rebecca met at Colorado State University. Studying Horticulture, they found they had a mutual interest in growing and eating organically. From hunting, their love for eating, cooking, and processing meat raised in their natural habitats drove their business plan. Starting in the San Luis Valley, they set off to raise high quality, pasture raised, non-GMO pigs and piglets.

ABOUT ALPENGLOW ACRES

When Robert was little, he had the opportunity to visit his aunt and uncle on their large sheep ranch where he was immersed in the ranch lifestyle. The ranching influence led him to school where he studied Horticulture at Colorado State University. His studies were an introduction to how our food was grown and how our conventional food system is sourced from confined space farms with unnecessary antibiotics and vaccines. The majority of the crops grown in the United States are genetically modified and highly sprayed with pesticides. Driven to eat strictly organic and non-GMO, he decided there might be a market for small order, high quality meat production. Starting on 160 acres, he began his journey of pasture raised meat.

PASTURE RAISED, FREE RANGE & GMO FREE

We provide electric fence trained, pasture raised, non-GMO pigs and piglets. Our goal is to start your pigs off in the best way possible so your pork will have the potential to taste as good as it can be. Raised on our natural fauna, mom's milk and non-GMO, fermented barley, these pigs have the best ability to gain the weight needed for future growth. Our sows and boars live together and are able to grow their piglets together, the way nature intended. Happy piglets make for a happy freezer.
